Give a gift to transform lives

Success thrives here

Imagine a place that helps ÂÒÂ׺£½Ç students thrive, both academically and physically. A Recreation and Wellness Centre will help make this a reality.

With state-of-the-art fitness facilities and a multi-purpose gymnasium for intramural sports, students will enjoy better health that will benefit their studies. Plus, active students are more engaged and more likely to stay on track toward graduation.

Currently ÂÒÂ׺£½Ç’s Kelowna campus has 8,000 students attending annually but does not have a gymnasium for intramurals, team sports or community events.

You can help Success Thrive here by supporting a Recreation and Wellness Centre at our Kelowna campus.

Your donation will create a space where students excel and our community grows stronger. ÂÒÂ׺£½Ç students are our future workforce, changemakers and community leaders.

'Sports gave me my confidence'

“From that first experience on the track, throughout my years focusing on my family and my career, sports was always with me.

It gave me the confidence to pursue opportunities and work hard. Those lessons have always stuck with me.â€

'Baseball taught me dedication'

"Being on the baseball team while going to school has taught me about dedication while helping improve my time management and leadership skills.

These skills are not only important for success in school and baseball but for my life after I am done at ÂÒÂ׺£½Ç.â€

Your gift strengthens our community

Our more than 60,000 alumni use their skills and education to power our local communities. You can find our grads building homes, fixing cars, caring for loved ones and contributing to our business and nonprofit sectors. We challenge you to go through a day and not encounter an ÂÒÂ׺£½Ç grad.

ÂÒÂ׺£½Ç has a vital role to play in our region as we look ahead over the next decade. Provincial labour market analysis continues to highlight increasing demand for professionals who have career focused, integrated education and training.

When you give to the Thrive Here campaign, you're supporting students' physical, emotional and social wellbeing, and that sets them up for success in school and their career.

Be the MVP in reaching our goal

Generous donors have already stepped up to the plate to support the $14-million Recreation and Wellness Centre Thrive Here campaign, through generous leadership-level gifts. Through their incredible giving, the ÂÒÂ׺£½Ç Foundation has already built a fund of $10 million.

Now, we need to take this effort across the finish line and as a community, raise the remaining $4 million together.

Cliff and Lois Serwa: Honorary Chairs

When approached to support the campaign to build a much-needed Recreation and Wellness Centre at ÂÒÂ׺£½Ç, not only did Cliff and Lois step forward and contribute financially, they agreed to become honorary chairs for the campaign.

Without basketball, I would've quit school early and driven a tractor and been quite happy. If I had done that then there may not have been a Big White and I certainly wouldn't have been in politics. It was education that enabled me to be able to get involved in a variety of different fields - but it all started as a focus from my activity in sports."
